Metal Family "Goodbye" Comic is up for sale

[ORIGINAL VIDEO]

Alina: Awaf to everyone! We're happy to announce that our first, and hopefully not last comic is now up for sale! You can buy it from our official website, or in the 28oi shop. Links in the description. It may appear in other shops in the future, but don't worry, we'll announce it on Instagram and VK. And yes, we ship to all countries... except Latin America. Sorry guys... The Russian post service doesn't allow it for some reason. Perhaps because of the pandemic? Or because its the Russian post service.

A few words about the comic. As I said before in the video "A little about the plans", the comic is essentially the 11th episode of season 1. It shows what happened to Glam after he left home and about his and Ches' lives. We don't plan to ever come back to this period of time. The second season will have adult Ches and Glam. You won't miss anything if you don't follow the comic. The story in the cartoon won't feel unfinished for those who haven't read the graphic novel. However, the comic will help you better understand the characters.

Ches: Especially certain characters...

Alina: In general we're really proud of the comic. Big thanks to ConFederation and Misha especially.
But sadly, due to technical issues, we had to make the poster that comes with each comic a bit smaller. Careful when you open it — it might fall out. It turned out to be in A3 format instead of what we intended. There's also a few flaws due to us never drawing comics before. We never had experience with text editing, graphical editing, color correction, lettering-shmettering and other hellish things.

For example the editor, apart from grammatical errors, would constantly change some dialogues that he thought sounded incorrectly. For example in the sentence "Sebastian! I'm gonna find out what that trash is!" he replaced the word "trash" with something else.

Or he would get mad at Ches' nonsensical phrases.
Ches: How naive...

Alina: That's why we had to make edits to his edits. And there were over 200 of those. Considering how overloaded we already were, it was very hard to do.

As a result, the final version of the comic has a few errors. For example here it should've been...

Ches: Wait! This microphone is really necessary to me!
Glam: Necessary? For playing with it by plugging into the amp?

The editor thought repeating the same word is bad, so they replaced it. And we didn't notice it. Now it sounds like this:

Ches: Wait! I really NEED it!
Glam: NECESSARY? TO HAVE FUN WITH IT?
Ches: Sounds logical.

Alina: There's also a few errors with bubble placement, where it's unclear which one should be read first. Also for some reason we wrote "spiral staircase" even though its clearly U-shaped. Also this. Anyway there's enough errors, but please don't judge us too harshly. We still tried really hard. And we learned about those errors only after it was already printed.

About the English version. We plan to release it when the 1st season of the English dub ends, since it won't make much sense to release it beforehand. Plus, honestly it's hard for me to even imagine working on it. There's a possibility that we will do a crowdfunding campaign for the English version, or something like that, since we don't have enough money for English copies. Plus we'll have to work on adapting the text, etc...

I really don't like crowdfunding (I don't even know how to pronounce it correctly) and other fund-raising stuff, but we can't do much without it.

For those who love counting other people's money (sadly those exist) — don't worry. We won't become rich. All the money earned from sales of the Russian version will go to the production of the second season.

Anyway. we put a lot of effort into this comic. We tried to make it as informative as possible and at an affordable price, so everyone who wants could buy it. I hope you'll like it!

One more thing that's really important to us. For those who respect our efforts: don't post the comic online and don't encourage others to do it! It will badly impact the sales and, therefore, our overall income, in which case we'll have to find a secondary job, which will greatly slow down the production of the second season. Of course it goes without saying, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

Well, that's really it. Buy the comic and other merch from out store and don't worry if there's a small delay in delivery. There's a chance there would be too many orders and we won't be fast enough to send everything off in time. But don't worry, I'm sure there will be enough comics for everyone. And if not, we'll just order more prints.

Also I wanna remind you that you can purchase these wonderful sketchbooks is the 28oi shop. Link in the description. We designed them ourselves so part of the earnings will come directly to us. It's all official merch.

Thank you for supporting us, we really appreciate it! The second season is in the making and the Xydownik channel will probably have a new video out soon (regardless of when you're watching this video). So good luck to everyone, and awaf!
