Xydownik's birthday stream (Nov 25th, 2021)
This stream was held on November 25th in celebration of xydownik's (aka Dima's) birthday. People sent donations and participated in little quizzes by Alina and Dima. People who were the first to give the right answer in chat won special sketches and random pieces of merch.
Most of the stream consisted of Alina and Dima reading donations and discussing things unrelated to MF. For the sake of time and clarity I'll only be focusing on important or fun parts.
Skip to the end of the page for a TL;DR!
[Stream starts at 39:00. Alina and Dima greet everyone and get ready]
[40:26] First donation sketch
Dima: Hey, someone already donated. Let's see...
Alina: [reads the donation] "Happy Birthday! Thank you for your work."
Dima: Thank you... who was it?
Alina: [reads the nickname] Alright, nice.
Dima: Oh, yeah. Actually we've been wanting to announce a few contests and we already have a winner, because as soon as we started the stream someone immediately donated. It's Molotok. Thank you Molotok for the very first donation. You win this little picture. [shows a sketch]
Alina: [complains about the camera not focusing] Sure, why even focus on it... Makes you wanna poke it with a finger. But you guys still get it.
Dima: There's an email in the description, please send us your info so we could contact you and send you this picture. And a badge as a gift. And maybe something else.
Alina: We'll think of something.
[42:09] Suslik showdown
Dima: "Here's for season 1. Btw, when's the showdown with Suslik? [aka Gopher/Chipmunk]"
Alina: Don't ask us.
Dima: Then who?
Alina: Ask Dee. Oh right you can't, his Q&A is over...
Dima: But really, what should we say about Suslik? That perhaps it will happen but in a comic or something?
Alina: Yeah yeah.
Dima: Suslik is honestly the least developed character, so...
Alina: Yeah, he's nice and all but... To be honest, Dee doesn't really care about him.
[43:35] Mom moment
Alina: "Kovaleva Marina Vyacheslavovna"! Mom donated! Or I hope that's her. Oh yeah, she wrote "SHHHH." That's definitely her. Thank you!
Dima: Holy crap, 3000. Does this mean we can't cuss now?
Alina: Man, for real. We can't cuss in front of mom. Mom, sorry in advance.
[46:34] Ches plays a song
Dima: [reads chat] "Say something in Ches' voice." Hey dudes! Do you want me to play you a song? Uh... [plays the guitar]
[47:43] Ches Q&A when?
Alina: "Happy Birthday! Thank you for all your work. Is Ches' Q&A gonna happen?" [stumbles over her words] Fuck, you get it. Mom, sorry for cussing.
Dima: Yes yes, for sure, just...
Alina: [in Ches' voice] In due time.
Dima: [in Ches' voice] Yeah, in due time. It's too early for me to answer them.
[48:33] VA donates on stream
Alina: [while reading donations] Oh, Chiari Queen! Oh fuck, it's in English. [gets serious]
Dima: C'mon Alina, show everyone your English skills.
Alina: [reads the donation] "... happy birthday to you! I also had a birthday recently on Monday..." [turns to Sergey, their friend off screen] What does recently mean? Oh, recently! Ok, uh... Does anyone here coughSergeycough know English? How do you say "C прошедшим днем рождения тебя?"
Sergey: Late happy birthday to you.
Alina: Are you sure?
Sergey: I'm sure!
Alina: Chiari, late happy birthday to you! And thanks for your voice acting! [to viewers] She voiced Victoria in the English version by the way. She's freaking awesome. I hope she understood what I even said.
[50:45] Season 2 info
Dima: "Happy birthday, Dima! Tell us some info about the second season please! Respect to you for your work." Well, what can I say... You'll see everything in December.
Alina: I really hope so. At the end or the middle of it.
Dima: We'll see. But it's 99% gonna happen in December. We were afraid we won't make it, but we've made it.
Alina: More like "making it", it's still in progress.
Dima: A long time ago I said in a Q&A that the third episode is super complicated and takes a lot of time to make. And it's true.
Alina: But we'll manage it.
Dima: Of course we will.
[52:20] Fan pin
Alina: ... About the pin. We got this. [shows off a pin they got from a fan] Can you focus?
Dima: Put a hand near it.
Alina: Almost... In any case, you get the idea. Fuck, it prefers your face to the pin. But you get it. Anyway, we got these, they're really cool.
[55:56] Small team
Alina: "Happy birthday Dimas! ... SAD that you weren't able to assemble a team for the second season, but respect to you for the cartoon."
Dima: As strange as it is, we're actually slowly gathering a team. Maybe not in the traditional sense, like "There it is, animator HQ!" No. We're slowly growing. For example, we got an amazing musician, we got a great composer, and a couple of animators too. So hopefully it's all pointing towards us possibly picking up the pace.
Alina: We'll always have a small but loving team.
Dima: Well, the quality will definitely stay where it is. I think you'll appreciate the quality now, because it's significantly increased. I think it was worth the time.
[1:00:53] Episodes release date
[Alina and Dima take a break from donations to talk to the viewers]
Alina: [to Dima] Should we tell them how many episodes will come out at first? In season 2. I'm just worried that people might assume that we're dropping the whole season in December.
Dima: No no, of course not. We'll release the first episode in December, then another one about a month later, so there won't be a big delay. The third episode will come out when it's ready.
Alina: Yeah yeah, we just want to tell everyone in advance that we hadn't finished the whole season, there's way too many episodes. But I hope we'll make enough progress in between the first 2 as they come out. There won't be any more half a year long hiatuses.
Dima: Yeah. We'll work really hard on that.
[1:01:46] QUESTION 1
Alina: Anyway, the contest. Let's move on. As you might've already guessed, our first contest was for the first donation. But we have...
Dima: 6 I think.
Alina: 6 more contests. And now we'll begin.
Dima: Yeah, actually... We'll have to get ready, one sec. You'll have to write the answer in chat and the first one to answer correctly will win prizzies.
Alina: Prizzies.
Dima: Presents.
[1:03:01]
Alina: Alright, kids. Open up your comic books.
Dima: Not necessarily. Maybe someone remembers the poster. There's a poster inside the comic and the question will be about that poster. Alright, get ready, get your keyboards.
The questions is simple: "How many characters are on the poster?"
And the first to answer correctly is... [reads chat] We know there's a delay, but I'm waiting for the right answer.
[1:05:18] The right answer is 13! Qwerty, Congratulations! The right answer... Which one... Ah, here. You get this thingy. [shows a sketch] Please contact us via email in the description so we could send it to you, along with...
Alina: Along with a few other presents.
Dima: Yeah, we have a few presents here, we'll pick something for you. There, should we move on?
Alina: I guess let's get back to reading donations for now.
[1:07:07] Opinion on NSFW fanart
Alina: Drunk Fox says "Happy birthday! Wishing you all the best. I have a question: Recently on Twitter there's been lots of pr0n art of Metal Family. What do you think about it?" [to Sergey] What's pr0n art? Porno?
Sergey: Yep.
Alina: Oh. [laughs]
Dima: Nothing. I always say this: we knew this would happen. I dunno what Alina thinks though, maybe she looks it up occasionally...
Alina: [flustered] What are you sayinggg? Geeeez.
Dima: I don't look at it, I'm simply not interested so I stay away. If someone likes it, let them do what they want.
Alina: Yeah, it's not like we perceive those characters as ours. They're interpretations after all, so no hard feelings.
[1:09:14] Glam's thoughts on guitar as a hobby
Dima: "My sister is worried about what..."
Alina: "... what Glam might think of her. What does he think about guitar as a hobby?"
Dima: "... She's self taught but can play There Grows The Pine on her own."
Alina: Ooooh, that's already a great accomplishment!
Dima: Glam would be impressed.
Alina: That's true. And Ches especially. So it's cool, thanks for the donation.
[1:12:54] QUESTION 2
Dima: And the quiz continues! [to Alina] You should ask the question.
Alina: Why?
Dima: Well because... [gives a vague answer]
Alina: Oh. Anyway guys, open up your posters again.
Dima: Get chat ready. I'll get it ready so I can read the answers.
Alina: What musical instrument is in-between Dee and Quest Girl? It's that long one. Alright, now we'll track the right answer. This right here is a hard question, but later it'll get much fucking worse. I have no idea who'd be able to answer the next one, I think Dima went too far.
Dima: [to Alina] Can you write the right answer and give it to Sergey?
[1:14:57]
Dima: There!
Alina: Found it. Is it Dara?
Dima: Dara888.
Alina: Só capoeira, Dara!
Dima: Congratulations! Right? [picks a sketch] Here, thank you Dara888. You win this wonderful thingy [shows a sketch] together with a present. Please write to our email, we'll send it to you. Thank you for the right answer. Good job!
[the answer was berimbau]
[1:16:04] Next streams
Alina: I wanna mention just in case that this is an objectively local stream, just so that no one feels bad about being late or only being able to watch the VOD. We haven't even announced it in our MF group because we were afraid we were gonna mess up somehow. We're just worried, this is our first time after all. Next streams are gonna be posted on the official MF channel, so yeah...
Dima: Right now it's all just...
Alina: It's a test, yeah.
Dima: By the way, where is... Damn, the box's too far.
Alina: What?
Dima: The box 37, it's how old I am today. Oh well, whatever...
Alina: I mean, you basically already spoiled it.
[1:16:48] Dima made Batmetal?
Dima: "Hiya, happy bd. I have a question. I saw Batmetal in my recommendations and one of the authors mentioned on that channel was xydownik. Is that you?" It's me.
Alina: [dramatically] It's him...
Dima: It's him! The musical fuc--... [a reference to an old Russian tv show's musical jingle "The Musical Phone"]
Alina: [laughs] Yeah, they drew Batmetal together with Zhenya. Zhenya is the dude who voiced... C'mon, everyone knows Zhenya! C'mon, Zhenyek! He voiced Glam and Dee. And Lydia. [in the Russian original]
[1:18:44] Poodle's name
Alina: "Question: What's the name of the poodle that goes AWAF? If it's not a secret." [Alina and Dima look at each other]
Dima: He has a lot of names...
Alina: Yeah... But it's a completely different story.
Dima: That's a very serious question and I don't think I can speak of him aloud without consequences.
Alina: ... As you can see, we're also a little fucked in the head. [both of them laugh]
[1:23:52] Dima's opinion on Deltarune
[Alina goes to get more drinks. Sergey talks to Dima]
Sergey: Hey, while Alina's not here, can we talk about Undertale and Deltarune? People in chat keep asking "Will there be an episode of Imagine in Deltarune?"
Dima: Oh... I'll only say shortly that I really liked Deltarune. The second part made me feel a whirlwind of emotions. Not a lot of games impressed me as much recently. But sadly I don't have time to discuss Imagine right now.
[1:25:24] Let's count together!
Dima: "I counted all the characters and only found 10. Where's the other 3?" [in reference to the earlier quiz] Alright, let me show you.
[1:25:47]
[opens up the poster] So... Wait, I gotta move...
Alina: Make it so its not obscuring anyone. Oh, its not.
Dima: Its not. [starts counting] Ches 1, rat 2, Victoria 3, Glam 4, Heavy 5, Dee 6, Quest Girl 7, Bug 8, Anna 9, Alina 10, me 11, poodle 12, and that dude peeking out is 13.
[Pic below. Since the image on screen was cropped, I looked one up online. Apologies for the quality]
[1:27:39] Imagine in Undertale
Dima: "What do you think about the idea of making an episode of Imagine in Undertale?" [looks at Sergey]
Alina: I see Sergey donated too. [everyone laughs]
Dima: In all seriousness, it'd just take too much time to show all of it. Honestly It'd be interesting, at least for me.
Alina: Not for me since I never played it. I know the synopsis of course, but... I think it'd be hard to realize. Not as spectacular.
[1:30:53] Metal Family on TV?
Dima: "Ever thought of promoting MF outside of YouTube? Like on 2x2." [2x2 is a Russian tv network, similar to Adult Swim]
Alina: Alright, let's talk about 2x2 once again.
Dima: We're against our cartoon being shown on tv...
Alina: Mind you, we don't have anything against 2x2.
Dima: Yeah, we'd watched it occasionally ourselves. But the thing is... that logo that shows up above stuff... [he means the 2x2 logo]
Alina: ... Well, I have a different opinion, but...
Dima: Fine, I won't even finish because we don't have time.
Alina: Well, I was thinking of just giving a sensible answer.
Dima: Alright, I'll let you tell your sensible answer.
Alina: I just wanted to say that we don't have ambitions like "Oh, to be shown on every channel, every movie theater, every supermarket..." I understand if people think we're aiming too low, but for real, with this project we really don't wanna aim too high. That's why promoting it to a TV network or streaming service doesn't interest us, we don't see any benefits for the project and for us.
[1:33:25] Putting the comic online
Alina: "I don't have money for the comic. Will it ever be publicly available online?" Actually it will.
Dima: But not very soon.
Alina: Yes, because honestly it provides us with a lot of material support.
Dima: I'm freaking shocked how much support we got today too!
Alina: Yeah. Anyway, we'll post it eventually.
[1:34:17] Q&A's break the 4th wall
Alina: "Are Q&A's canonical in terms of the characters knowing in canon that random people from the internet ask them questions?"
Dima: We'll explain. The thing is, if the characters were just getting questions from somewhere and answering them, it just wouldn't be interesting. The purpose of those videos was to get answers out of them, at least the answers they could give.
Alina: Yeah, it's not a story line from the show, it's just an attempt to answer your questions from the point of view of canonical characters.
Dima: Yeah, because a lot of people have questions and...
Alina: "Why are they breaking the 4th wall?!"
Dima: Please forget about the 4th wall.
Alina: Yeah, we just had to break the conventions, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to answer your questions. We just found this format the most interesting, that's all.
[1:35:45] Why no daughter?
Dima: "Awaf. Why didn't you give Glam and Victoria a daughter? P.S. Dima, Happy New Year."
Alina: They mean year of life.
Dima: Thanks. Because... Well, actually, when we first started developing the show, we had a daughter. And moreover, she was a Victorian, very proper.
Alina: A bit like Lisa Simpson in a way. But then we thought there were too many kids.
Dima: A lot was changing and we didn't want to have a typical family with a bunch of kids... At first we only had Heavy, Dee was created later. So yeah, to answer the question: it just didn't work out.
[TL Note: If you're curious, there's a translated panel from 2019 where Alina and Dima explain how the show was developed and go into detail about the characters. You can read it here]
[1:38:40] Adult Dee and Heavy
Alina: "Awaf, happy bd. Do you plan on showing Dee and Heavy as adults? [Alina and Dima smile] And does Alina play any musical instruments?" Uhhh... Well, mostly I don't play. My level of skill is approximately the same as Dee, but I don't get as upset about it.
Dima: Sometimes we try to play together.
[1:40:52] QUESTION 3
Alina: I think it is time for the 3rd quiz. Is it the third?
Dima: I dunno, I lost count already.
Ooh, this one's cool. It's related to the poster again, oddly enough. And it's gonna be interesting. Let me get ready again...
[1:41:30]
Alina: [to Dima] Let me read it out for now.
Behind Ches there hangs an amulet. What's written on it?
Dima: Yup. That's all.
Alina: Actually, because of the very dark print, people who're looking at a scan or photo most likely won't see it.
Dima: Yeah, you gotta shine a light on it.
Alina: So probably only the lucky owners of the poster would be able to see it. But later we'll also have questions for people who don't own the comic, so don't worry!
Sergey: We have one.
Dima: Already?!
Alina: Who?
Dima: Elya. Congratulations, Elya Rahmutulina! Pardon if I read that wrong. Congrats! It's the name of the goddess of luck.
Alina: Yeah, Benten. [to Dima] We shouldn remember to say the right answers.
Dima: Yeah. It's Benten. Congrats, you get CHES! [shows a sketch] Which is drawn like this. Please write to our email in the description, we'll send it to you. Plus something else.
[1:47:44] More Q&As
Alina: "Is there a chance that the characters of season 2 will have their own Q&As at the turn of the third season?"
Dima: Yes, very likely.
Alina: I didn't get the wording of the sentence...
Dima: The haracters of season 2, then the third season comes...
Alina: Ah, I get it. Yeah, probably. We'll see.
[1:48:38] About fan gifts
Alina: "Awaf, from chocolate toy poodle." You have a chocolate toy poodle?! Wonderful. "Could you tell us shortly about all the stuff you received from fans: art, embroidery..." [Alina and Dima look at the fanart wall behind them]
Dima: Shortly, huh... Yeah, some stuff here was sent to us, some belongs to us.
Alina: Some was drawn to us by friends.
Dima: Some of it you can't really see.
Alina: Yeah, I dunno if it's going to show well.
Dima: We gotta grab the camera for it, but we can't sadly. [points to a drawing] These here are very old drawings.
Alina: Yeah, very old. Probably from 5 years ago, I was still working at Mail [Russian internet company]. Here's some letters from our subscribers, drawings. This one's from Julia. This one's from Cherry. And that one's from Junk, her first ever drawing.
Dima: You can't see it.
Alina: Junk would say "Good." [laughs] Kidding, it's nice! [shows an accessory] And this godly thing was gifted to me on Halloween, it's 2 beer caps. You can't see anything... Well, believe us, all of it looks fucking awesome. Sorry mom.
[1:50:12] The Gray House's influence on MF
Dima: "How much has The Gray House influenced you and MF?" [The Gray House is a Russian novel written by Mariam Petrosyan. Alina and Dima are known to be big fans of the book and even made an animatic based on it]
Alina: "Will Alina voice The Quest Girl? Dima, say something in Heavy's voice."
Dima: Hello. What do I have to say? I guess... I'm not actually drinking beer! Dad doesn't let me. He tells me...
Alina: That I'll be fat. [laughs]
Dima: That I'll be fat, yeah. [laughs] Um, about The Gray House. Actually when we first started reading it, we realized that characters are everything.
Alina: Yeah.
Dima: And for us personally they're the most important factors of the story. The characters should hook you. The story, twists or whatever are irrelevant, as long as you love the characters, believe they exist. You won't even care about what's happening, because you know exactly how the characters will act. And so the plot kinda builds itself. As we said before — the characters make the story.
Alina: As for The Gray House. Sometimes I watch a few booktubers, and some of them say "Wow, it's so freaking cool!" While others say "The hell is this?!" Seriously, there's some people who absolutely cannot understand The Gray House, and that's a very funny thing about this piece. You either get it or you don't. And the actual book knows that not a lot of people might understand it, and deliberately plays with that idea, because there's a few characters in the story that don't understand the point, while others do. [to Dima] Damn, I must be talking out of my ass right now.
Dima: [laughs]
Alina: Anyway, it's a great novel. Tabaqui one love. Although my favorite is Blind, and Dima's is Sphinx. Right?
Dima: It's Black.
Alina: Seriously?! You like Black the most?
Dima: Yes, of course. He's the most adequate and cool. I don't like Sphinx. Though all characters are interesting.
Alina: Alright, we're spending too much time on this question. Not everyone read the book.
[1:54:45] Dee's Instagram
Alina: "Heavy's got an Instagram, but what about Dee? Are there any plans to implement the characters into reality?" Who knows... But Dee definitely won't have one, he's not the type to post on Instagram.
Dima: Even if Dee had one it'd be empty. Because why would he post anything there. [in Dee's voice] I don't need that.
Alina: [also in Dee's voice] I'm not interested.
[1:55:20] QUESTION 4
Alina: This next questions is REALLY hard, guys. I think...
Dima: Hold on, someone important... [prepares everything]
[1:56:13]
Alina: In Ches' shop above the door...
Dima: Open the posters.
Alina: Yeah, open up your posters again. Or you can look at a photo for this one.
In Ches' shop above the door hangs a reference to a movie. Which movie is it?
Right above the door, where Bug is hitting his head, there's an object hanging there. Guys, if you answer right, then... I don't even know... I have no idea who could know this, it's a very hard question.
Dima: I think someone already answered.
Alina: That's impossible.
[1:58:58]
Alina: Anyway, Abe. By the way, don't worry, we'll double check everything later in case someone answered earlier. We'll send it to them. It was the movie The Edge with Anthony Hopkins. The Edge, yes.
Dima: Here's your sketch. [shows a sketch] With a gift. Please write to our email in the description, we'll send it to you.
[2:00:09] Character's birthdays
Dima: "Can you tell us the main characters' birthdays? Just curious. "
Alina: Guys. We're stupid. We occasionally mess up and tell people the wrong dates, that's why we won't be doing that on stream. Or else we're gonna mess up, forget about it, and people will have video evidence of us messing up. So we won't tell, sorry.
[2:01:45] More Batmetal?
Alina: "It's clear that currently you're busy with Metal Family, but is there a possibility that in the distant future you'll continue making Batmetal with Zhenya?"
Dima: We'll see. To be honest when we'd finished the second Batmetal, we weren't sure if there will be the third. We thought "Well, we'll see, we'll see." If we do end up making something, I doubt it will be Batmetal. It'd be nice to make something though.
[2:02:50] Glam's guitar prototype
Dima: "Hello. Which guitar was the prototype for Glam's first electric guitar?"
Alina: The head looks like Jackson, but I've never seen... [laughs at Dima] Fuck, I lost it. I had to be silent, it was an epic moment. Instanly like... "... but I've never seen a Jackson with a pickup." Fuck, I'm making a fool of myself, no idea how to read this. Anyway. We just drew a guitar. I think you're overestimating us.
Dima: Yeah, there was no prototype. We suck at that stuff, sorry. If we paid attention to every little thing, it'd take too much time. We just drew it, that's all. In the third episode, for instance... [stops himself]
Alina: ... Yes. Shut up. [they laugh] In that sense bikes are easier because you can always just say "Eh, it's a custom." No one would question it.
[2:13:23] Ches says hello
Alina: "Do you know about Leo Moracchioli?" Nope. "He makes cool metal covers. Can you say hello in Ches' voice?"
Dima: [in Ches' voice] Leo Moracchioli...
Alina: I don't think they meant say hello to him. Though who knows... Say it to everyone just in case.
Dima: Greetings to all. To everyone who can hear me. Who can see me... even though you can't. I'm not here. A biiig hello from me to all.
[2:18:00] QUESTION 5
Dima: I'm gonna do something scary. I'm gonna sing a song and your task will be to guess which cartoon this song is from. Though I'm not very sure I'll sing it correctly... So yeah, anyone who writes the correct answer in chat first, even during the song, will win a prize.
Alina: But you won't because it's impossible to guess.
Dima: I'll do the short version because I'm a bit out of it already.
Alina: Just don't play the wrong song.
Dima: [starts playing the song]
[ends at 2:20:22] Did someone get it?
Sergey: Nope.
Dima: Damn! No one, huh.
Sergey: There's a lot of Shreks.
Dima: [laughs while reading chat] Shrek, Shrek, Shrek...
Alina: In any unclear situation, just say Shrek.
[2:21:13]
Dima: Oh!
Alina: What? Where? Really?!
Dima: There!
Alina: Holy shit! You guys are crazy. Who's that madlad?
Dima: Sirius. Anyone guess it before them?
Sergey: I can't even find him, there's too many...
Dima: Well, since he answered I'll tell you. It's Animalympics.
Alina: Man, holy shit, respect. We should send them a cool present. Because man, it's a veryyy unpopular cartoon.
[2:22:09]
Dima: Anyway, congrats in advance! Firstly, you get this sketch. [shows a sketch] [in Glam's voice] Oooh, what a wonderful knowledge of music! I'm impressed. We'll send it to you... In the description...
Alina: There's email.
Dima: Email, yes.
[2:43:25] Motorcycle knowledge
[Alina left somewhere]
Dima: "I was very surprised by how accurate Victoria's answer was about Ural and Dnepr, did you ask for help from fellow bikers? And which bikes do you own? P.S. Alina's bracelet is sick." Well, she left somewhere but I'm sure she'd say "Ah, thank you!"
About Ural and Dnepr. Yes, we have a few acquaintances. Our sensei -- teacher -- Alexander. He taught us to ride bikes. And when we saw that question, we knew Victoria had to know the answer. A very detailed answer. And since we are stupid and can't do that, we asked our teacher "How do we answer in detail?" So he asked a friend, and that friend sent us this long, detailed reply through voice messages. And we even decided to keep the same style of speech as his. It's pretty word-for-word.
As for which bikes we have, mine is Honda Shadow and Alina's is Kawasaki Vulcan.
[2:45:50] More comics?
Dima: "Hoi! Will there be more comics, for example after the second season?" Yes, there will, for sure. Maybe even during the second season. [Alina returns] Right?
Alina: Yes, most likely during.
[2:46:48] Vicky's tattoo
Dima: "Please tell us, what's the tattoo on Vicky's shoulder? Thanks, love you." We can't tell you right now, sorry.
[2:50:12] Live adaptation cast
Alina: "If MF had a live adaptation, who would you want for the main characters' roles?" What an interesting question.
Dima: [in Glam's voice] What an interesting question!
Alina: Okay...
Dima: [to Alina] You spat on me... "OKAY!"
Sergey: [in Glam's voice] What's the hurry?
Alina: Fuck. The only thing I'm sure about is that adult Heavy should be played by Thor. I forgot his name. But you all know Thor. The others I'm not sure. Man, Victoria... Hard to say.
Dima: Yeah, it's hard.
Alina: Physique-wise I'd love it to be Rousey. She's so cool... [TL Note: She means Ronda Rousey]
[2:55:50] Metal Family GPS
Dima: At the supermarket there are self-checkout machines, and when you walk up to one, it talks to you. One time I really liked the tone in which it spoke and I thought Glam's voice would fit perfectly for it. So you scan the product like BEEP, and he goes [in Glam's voice, smiling] Return it. [laughs] Return the product. Where are you taking it.
Alina: Actually the most awesome idea we've had is a GPS navigator with the characters' voices.
Dima: [in Heavy's voice] Damn, I guess you should turn left.
Alina: [also in Heavy's voice] Well, if you wanna use another route, then use another route, I guess.
Or a Dee navigator. Maaan, it'd be... [in Dee's voice] I don't freaking care where you're going. [laughs]
Dima: [also in Dee's voice] Stop.
Alina: You're speeding.
Dima: Speed camera ahead, but I hacked it.
Alina: [laughs] Just kidding. You're getting a ticket. [everyone laughs] And Glam is like: [in Glam's voice] You're speeding. Don't speed anymore.
Or Victoria: [in Vicky's voice] Man I dunno, there's a tie-up. Would've been faster by bike.
Dima: [laughs] Yup. Alright, let's go next.
Alina: OH MY GOD, A CHES NAVIGATOR! He'd just take you who-fucking-knows-where every time. You put in an address and he takes you to a completely random one.
Sergey: [in Ches' voice] Just drive forward.
Alina: [in Ches' voice] Keep driving forward, forget the lights. Red is my favorite color. [everyone laughs] Ok next, or else we'll never stop!
Dima: [in Ches' voice] There's a speed limit here, but you can fly...
Alina: Don't limit yourself.
Sergey: [?] Look, someone's after you!
[2:58:09] Ches' mom's name
Dima: "I have a question. Will Ches' moms name and face be revealed in the future?"
Alina: Who knows.
Dima: The chance is very low.
[2:59:50] Unreleased comic
Alina: "Could you tell us in detail about the unreleased comic about the revenge on Suslik? I'm very interested in how everything initially happened, even if it didn't fit with Dee's character."
Dima: We could tell them.
Alina: Fuck, we're not really able to talk about it right now, Dim... It'll take us 3 hours.
Dima: Let's tell just a little. Let's say that Dee, in his typical manner, acted like a goddamn... maniac. And just started making fun of Suslik the only way he knew how. Literally started driving him mad. And at the end of the comic it sort of backfired. [to Alina] Right?
Alina: [whispering] I don't remember the ending...
Dima: [smacks hands together]
Alina: Ohhh! Nah, it's mostly because Dee's a loser. [laughs]
Dima: Yeah.
[The stream ends with Alina and Dima thanking everyone for being there, and saying that the next stream will be held on the official channel]
TL:DR:
- Suslik [Gopher in the English dub] probably won't be appearing again in the show, but might in the comics.
- Ches' Q&A will happen "in due time".
- The first episode of season 2 will come out in December, with the second following a month later. Episode 3 will come out "when its ready".
- There are exactly 13 characters on the poster that came with the comic Goodbye.
- Alina and Dima are okay with NSFW fanart, but they prefer not to view it themselves.
- The musical instrument between Dee and Quest Girl on the poster is called berimbau.
- Dima turned 37 on the day of the stream.
- As was mentioned in the past, Dima and Zhenya [Glam's VA in the original] are the creators of Batmetal.
- Alina and Dima aren't interested in promoting MF outside of YouTube.
- The Goodbye comic will eventually be available online for free (but not very soon).
- The 4th wall breaks in the Q&A's are done just for the sake of giving people answers They're not part of the storyline.
- Alina and Dima stayed quiet on the question "Do you plan on showing Heavy and Dee as adults?"
- The amulet behind Ches on the poster has "Benten" written on it, the name of the goddess of luck.
- Characters from season 2 will most likely have their own Q&As.
- Alina and Dima are big fans of the book The Gray House by Mariam Petrosyan and were inspired by its characters and storytelling.
- Dee doesn't use Instagram (or at least doesn't post on it) because he's "not interested".
- Above the door on the poster hangs a reference to the movie The Edge.
- Glam's first electric guitar doesn't have a prototype. It's just a random guitar.
- There will be more comics in the future (possibly during the second season).
- If MF had a live adaptation, Heavy would be played by Chris Hemsworth and Victoria by Ronda Rousey.
- Ches' mom's name and face probably won't ever be revealed.
- There was an unreleased comic about Dee driving Suslik mad "the only way he knew how" and that backfiring on him at the end. It was cut because "Dee has slightly changed" and "he wasn't that offended", as was mentioned at the ArtWave 2021 conference.
